Supply Chain Leadership Academy

The Penn State Smeal Center for Supply Chain Research (CSCR) continues to expand professional development opportunities through its partnership with Credly, offering micro-credentials as part of the virtual Supply Chain Leadership Academy Sprints. These credentials allow participants to showcase the skills, competencies, and achievements gained through CSCR’s learning experiences, providing a tangible way to demonstrate professional growth to employers and peers.

In 2025, CSCR offered five sprint series:

  • Risk and Agility Series (January–March)

  • Total Cost of Ownership Series (April–June)

  • Future of Procurement Series (June–August)

  • Leading Successful Projects Series (July–September)

  • Logistics Series (October–December)

Over the year, CSCR issued 342 Credly badges and saw an increase in engagement with the credential system and social sharing compared with previous years. Approximately 204 badges were accepted by participants, reflecting a 60% acceptance rate. Of those accepted, roughly 110 badges (52%)were shared on social media, highlighting the value participants place on publicly demonstrating their professional development. Additionally, 88 series badges were awarded in 2025, a 14% increase over 2024, demonstrating growing participation and recognition within the CSCR community.

These results underscore CSCR’s commitment to providing high-quality, skill-based learning experiences that equip supply chain professionals to advance in their careers and share achievements within their networks.
