Message from the CSCR Director (2024-25)

It is an exciting time to be part of the supply chain community! As the global supply chain landscape continues to evolve, so too does the Penn State Smeal Center for Supply Chain Research (CSCR). Our mission remains steadfast: bridging academia and industry to advance the field of supply chain management, while continuously enhancing the ways in which we bring that mission to life.

This past year, we have seen remarkable growth in engagement across all four of CSCR’s core pillars: Talent, Knowledge, Research, and Networking. Our community of practice now spans 21 unique sectors, with corporate supporters demonstrating an impressive 12.2-year average of continued partnership. Together, we are driving innovation, developing talent, and sharing insights that shape the future of supply chains.

CSCR is proud to lead meaningful thought leadership initiatives, including the inaugural Supply Chain Modernization & Talent Insights Symposium and the biannual Supply Chain Leaders Forum. We are streamlining our events to introduce new speakers, create dynamic sessions, and expand engagement opportunities. Hosting gatherings in vibrant downtown State College venues and off-site locations has infused new energy and collaboration into our programming.

Our collaborations with industry partners have continued to increase, expanding experiential learning opportunities for students, and enriching their academic journeys while preparing them to become the next generation of supply chain leaders.

As we reflect on another year of progress, I am inspired by the momentum within our community and optimistic about the path ahead. At CSCR, we are honored to collaborate with friends and supporters of the center as we continue to build more together!
