Our Smeal Community
A Network Built Since 1953
Since its founding in 1953, the Penn State Smeal College of Business has cultivated a global community of alumni whose influence extends across industries, organizations, and continents. Smeal graduates lead companies, launch ventures, drive innovation, and create meaningful impact as executives, entrepreneurs, authors, philanthropists, and mentors.
The strength of the Smeal network is rooted in generations of connection and support. One of the college's defining moments came in 1990, when it was named in honor of Mary Jean and Frank P. Smeal '42 and '42, whose transformative philanthropy helped shape the future of business education at Penn State.
Today, alumni engagement remains one of Smeal's greatest strengths. Through mentorship, recruiting, networking, and philanthropy, alumni help create opportunities for students and fellow graduates, ensuring that the Smeal community remains connected long after graduation.
