Become a Smeal Student Organization

Not finding an organization that interests you at Smeal? You can create your own! First you must become a Recognized Student Organization (RSO) with Penn State's Office of Student Leadership and Involvement. Contact studentorg@psu.edu with questions or stop by HUB 103.

Once you have successfully created your organization you'll need to:

  1. Meet with the president of the Smeal Student Council to articulate the difference between your organization and all other Smeal Organizations.

  2. Present your organization to the Smeal Student Organization presidents with a 10-minute presentation.

  3. Wait for the presidents to vote on it. You will become a Smeal Student Organization with a simple majority vote. For more information or questions please reach out to Becky Winge, Smeal Student Engagement Coordinator at raw5960@psu.edu.
