Sigma Chi Mu Tau (SCMT) is a supply chain organization where students earn academic credit through the successful completion of a semester long supply chain research project.
Who is on the executive board for the 2023-2024 academic year?
McKenna Fritz, President
Ashley Zheng, Vice President
Kailey McSteen, Treasurer
Ryan Hickey, Secretary
What can a member expect to get out of their experience in your student organization?
By participating in a semester long supply chain research project through SCMT, students have the unique opportunity to work with a team of other students under a mentor’s guidance.
Students will work closely with a company liaison to do research, produce results, and deliver findings. By completing a researching project, students learn teamwork skills, proper and effective communication with companies, and further their supply chain knowledge and skills. Completing this research project fulfills SCMT’s Research pillar. After students have completed their research project, they have the opportunity to give back to the organization by being a mentor for a research project, connecting with younger students, or serving on the executive board which fulfills SCMT’s Leadership pillar. Additionally, all students in the organization are encouraged to take part in various community service projects hosted by the organization which fulfills SCMT’s last pillar, Philanthropy.
What is your favorite memory with SCMT?
My favorite memory from SCMT is supporting The Jared Box Project. This semester, SCMT was able to pair with CSCMP to assemble over 200 boxes filled with toys, games, and notes for The Jared Box Project to give to children in hospitals. It is great to know that you are making a difference in your community.
What is the process for joining SCMT?
To join SCMT, students can fill out an application. Of those students who fill out the application, several will be selected to participate in a research project and join SCMT. Applications for SCMT are open to all students who have an interest in supply chain research.
