SC&IS Students Awarded AWESOME Scholarship
The latest cohort of AWESOME Excellence in Education Scholarship recipients have been announced. Among this year's 20 recipients are Penn State Smeal supply chain incoming seniors, Katie Cocco and Maria Karamanos.
The AWESOME Excellence in Education Scholarship was created in 2013 to provide women enrolled in a full-time supply chain degree program with the opportunity to attend the AWESOME Symposium and the CSCMP EDGE Conference. Since that inaugural year, five women have been selected each year until 2021, when the program was expanded to include 20 recipients and a $5,000 financial award toward tuition.
Cocco and Karamanos join are joining a network of AWESOME Scholars, a comprised of former recipients from the program's inception to present. Through AWESOME Scholar CONNECT!**, the students are able to form connections and advance their careers through the AWESOME Scholar Forum.
