Felisa Higgins Appointed to Named Position

Felisa Higgins, associate dean for undergraduate education and clinical professor of supply chain management, has been appointed as the William A. Donan Professor of Business Administration. Felisa fills this professorship upon the recent retirement of Franklin Carter.

Higgins joined the supply chain and information systems faculty at Penn State in 2007 following a successful career with the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, where she implemented process improvement solutions and demand planning methods throughout Latin America. Since 2017, Felisa has served as the Smeal College of Business associate dean for undergraduate education in addition to her role as clinical professor of supply chain management.

Under Higgins’s leadership, Smeal has realized a significant increase in first-year undergraduate admission applications, narrower equity gaps in student persistence outcomes, and the launch of innovative programs aimed at enhancing the student experience.

Felisa earned her doctorate in industrial engineering from Purdue University, a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Florida State, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Florida A&M University.
