CSCR Wraps Up A Successful 2022 Spring SCIS Career Fair

It’s that time of year again where CSCR wraps up yet another successful spring Supply Chain & Information Systems (SCIS) Career Fair, hosted from January 26-27, 2022.

Given the nature of our “new normal,” the career fair was a hybrid mix of both virtual and in-person events, all thanks to the support of the RIIT group and lead organizer, Tracie Shannon, CSCR Administrative Director.

2022 did mark, however, CSCR’s first in-person element since the pandemic has started two years ago.

This year was made all the more special as the center’s newest corporate sponsors UTZ Quality Brands and Anheuser-Busch participated for the first time. CSCR is excited to welcome the sponsors to the biannual fair and share their opportunities with students and faculty who continue to embrace post-pandemic networking.

“Kind of crazy to think our juniors have never attended an in-person career fair,” Shannon said in summary of the fair. “Spring 2022 has ultimately far exceeded 2021 by completing 1472 chats in one day in comparison to 1399 over a two day period last year.”

See spring fair stats below:

Wednesday, January 26th (In-Person)

  • 23 participating companies

  • 177 students scanned

  • Est. 1,400 interactions

  • 26 companies participated with 109 representatives

Thursday, January 27th (Virtual)

  • 47 participating companies

  • 293 students scanned

  • Est. 2,900 interactions

  • 25 different companies participated with 85 representatives

Recruiters reported back to the center with positive feedback; they were happy with how smooth the chats were and how manageable the lines.

Steve Tracey, the center’s Executive Director, congratulates the CSCR team for their hard work and consecutive successful career fair.

“In speaking with several recruiting firms, they were extremely pleased with the showing [of students] and certainly were happy with the caliber of our student body,” Tracey shared. “I had several stories of companies offering multiple— one [company offered] 10— students positions as a result!”
