Seminar Series
Academic research seminars are the lifeblood of our intellectual community. In finance (as in most academic disciplines), early paper drafts are presented both internally and externally for comment prior to being submitted for peer review. These free exchanges of ideas provide authors with invaluable feedback while also sparking lively debates and conversations that often lead to additional research projects and collaborations. As such, a robust seminar schedule is a sign of a healthy intellectual environment – one that produces leading research aimed at making a tangible impact on business and society.
In the 2025-2026 academic year, the Finance department held 13 external research seminars featuring distinguished scholars from institutions including Yale University, the University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern University, and Boston College. During the 2025-2026 year, the department also hosted 14 “brownbag” seminars where finance faculty presented early versions of their latest research. These activities reinforce the department’s position as a leading contributor of financial knowledge and insights within the academic community and beyond.
