Diversity Scholars

We Are... 

Smeal Diversity Enhancement Scholars are high-achieving, goal-orientated, undergraduate students. Most are invited to join the program as incoming first-year students. Many are recipients of awards such as the Bunton-Waller, Lenfest, Maguire, and Hershey scholarships. All students participate in a specialized first-year seminar course, compete in case competitions, attend monthly meetings and workshops, and give back to the incoming cohorts of scholars. 

Events & Meetings 

Attendance at monthly meetings is required for Diversity Scholars. The meetings cover a range of topics including resume creation, academic curriculum, interview preparation, and life after Smeal.  During the Spring Semester a case competition is hosted for first- and second-year students, supported by corporate sponsors. The sponsor several events throughout the year including the . 

Company and Corporate Sponsors 

Throughout the year, scholars work with different corporate sponsors through monthly meetings and organizational events.  Past sponsors have included Boeing, Deloitte, EY, Johnson & Johnson, Kohls, KPMG and PwC.
